Abandoned since 2005, almost all of Margate’s Dreamland amusement park has been swept away, with just the cinema and part of the Scenic Railway surviving.

Check out my photo feature on Margate’s Dreamland – and there’s a happy ending too!

Some photos from our walk around Broadstairs in Kent, yesterday afternoon. I love walking around seaside towns out of season!

The weather was really dramatic when we were there – one minute it would be freezing cold and hammering down with hail, and minutes later the sun was out!
More pics soon!

Standing in Trafalgar Square for one week only was an unusual art exhibition featuring the large tree stumps from nine different species sourced from Suhuma forest reserve, a commercially logged tropical forest in Western Ghana.
The fully grown trees would have reached around 50 metres – the same height as Nelson’s Column.
The hefty stumps distributed around the square were designed to raise questions about the future of the world’s vulnerable forests, although we found ourselves wondering how much of a carbon footprint was created by lugging the things here.
The Ghost Forest installation finished on Sunday Nov 22 2009 and headed off to a public square in Copenhagen, to be seen during the UN Climate Change Conference.

After being lucky enough to sell usage rights to a load of my photos, I was left with enough cash to rush out and grab myself a Panasonic Lumix GF-1 micro four thirds camera with a 20mm f1.7 lens – something I’d been lusting over for ages!
I haven’t had chance to give the camera a full work out yet, so here’s a quick selection of more-or-less straight out of the camera images from my travels around London.

There was an ace night at the Grosvenor, Brixton last night, with some great bands, much drinking and a table football battle to end the night.
It’s a great old boozer and well worth checking out if you’re in the ‘hood.

What a terrific night that was! The place was *rammed*, the atmosphere brilliant and the light show was stupendous!
Nipsla and I were DJing the after show party at JAMM, which turned out to to be truly epic. But the hangover today. oh dear.me ‘ead!

Thursday’s Offline Club at Brixton was one of the best for a long time. We had a great line up with the incredible MORTON VALENCE, a massed throng of ukes with the DULWICH UKULELE CLUB, fast-rising hip-hop with LADY LYKEZ and the floor filling skiffle delights of THE SEVERED LIMB – plus underground no-budget independent film screenings with FLIXATION.
Here’s a few pics

And this is why we do it!

More photos here. Next Offline is at the Brixton Albert on November 20th.

Fuck that was fun.
It was like stepping back to old school Brixton, with a selection of curious bands, a fantastically mixed clientele and a great atmosphere.
All that was wrong was the beer prices.
