A glorious Good Friday in Brockwell Park as temperatures hit 80 degrees

London basked in an early heatwave today, with temperatures soaring to 27 degrees across the capital.

With the Met Office reporting that England and Wales had recorded their driest March for more than half a century, April looks set  to be another record breaker.

In Brockwell Park this afternoon, it seemed like half of Brixton had come out to picnic, drink, play Frisbee and soak in the rays, with loads of cyclists from the nearby Herne Hill Velodrome Good Friday event scattered around the green slopes.

Above is a photo of my favourite tree in Brockwell Park, close to where I enjoyed my first picnic of the year a few days ago.
