All aboard the Sir Tom Jones Express, Cardiff Queen Street

I imagine Sir Tom Jones was well chuffed when he learnt that he was getting a train named after him – but I suspect he was a little less enthusiastic when he got to see the actual train in question – a creaky old Pacer!

Spotted at Queen Street station in Cardiff on Wednesday evening and ready to splutter up to his home town of Treforest (near Pontypridd) was this knackered old Arriva diesel bearing the singer’s name.

The passenger looks suitably unimpressed too.
