Battery Park, New York City in the driving autumn rain

Battery Park, New York in the rain

I love walking through cities in the rain, and when it’s New York in late November, there’s rarely any shortage of the stuff.

Battery Park, New York in the rain

Here’s three of my favourite photos from a walk around Battery Park at the southern tip of Manhattan in November 2004.

The rain was really hammering down, so thankfully there was no-one else around to see my comic battle with my umbrella which was being bent inside out by the wind as as I struggled to take these pictures – and keep my camera dry.

As grey days go, they don’t come much more miserable than this one!

Here’s a view taken looking across the Hudson river to Hoboken, New Jersey. Next stop was a cafe for a warming cuppa!

  1. Now, in London, each of those posts (in the bottom picture) would have a cormorant perched on it and looking miserable!

  2. Hey, I’m interested of your shots! May I use you photos for commercial use? I am a musician and I want to use your photos be my artworks for my album project. May I use this for free?
