Britannia 7000 loco steams through Brixton, south London

Britannia 7000 loco steams past Brixton

Arriving a little earlier in Brixton than expected (so I missed its approach) was this chartered steam-hauled train, hauled by BR standard class 7 70000 Britannia.

The loco had been repainted since I last saw it thunder through Brixton in April, when it sported a moody black look.

The train curves towards Victoria, passing over Brixton railway station, with the distinctive six sided clock tower of Bradys to the right.

Find out when the nest steam train is due to pass through Brixton by following this thread: Brixton steam train alert.

  1. Good pics of Britannia. Would you disclose the location of where you took them? I was on the platform at Brixton – to find the train pass over the high level bridge!
