Brixton – autumnal sunset over Coldharbour Lane

You’ve got to love a good Brixton sunset, and this autumnal one wasn’t bad at all.

Taken from the lofty heights of the Barrier Block, in the foreground you can see the horrible Valeting Centre that currently occupies the site of the old Texaco garage – if only they’d carry the green space in front of Southwyck House over this eyesore!

Behind the row of shops can be seen the illuminated railway arches and the bridge over Valentia Place.

If the crazy road plans of the 1970s had come to fruition, this scene would have been dominated by a bleeding almighty elevated motorway. Thank feck that never happened.
