At the time of writing, reports are coming through that shops in Brixton have been told to close “right away” as rumours of fresh trouble grow.

Brixton was hit pretty hard by the violence and looting on Sunday night, with a host of businesses suffering extensive damage.

Big name stores like WH Smith, Argos, Carphone Warehouse and Vodafone have remained closed all day, and we’re now hearing that Superdrug and M&S have already shut up shop on the advice of the police, with other businesses following.
