The Prince Albert crowd were magnificent: loudly cheering the real Olympic stuff as it went by, and loudly booing the corporate sponsor bollocks.

There was a fair bit of mayhem going down on Coldharbour Lane with a P5 bus getting caught up in the procession.

There were massive crowds by Windrush Square, with the road junction completely blocked. I don’t think Brixton’s seen a street party so big since the 1998 Reclaim The Streets event.

  1. The last photo looks like Councillors Anyanwu and Prentis chatting to “Rev” Julian Smith of Brixton Unitarian Church. Unlike bedfellows I would have thought – Anyanwu is RC and Rev Jules is nuLabour at prayer! But perhaps it isn’t Jules – rear views can be deceptive!
