Practising parkour on the sandy beach of the River Thames, South Bank, London

I spotted these kids practising parkour on a chilly February afternoon.

They’d set up on the stretch of sandy beach that’s exposed during low tide outside the Royal Festival Hall on the South Bank, central London.

This guy was concentrating really hard for ages and trying to overcome his nerves (“I’m shitting myself!” he exclaimed to his waiting friends at one point).

Just when it looked like he was going to re-enact Prefab Sprout’s ‘King Of Rock’n’Roll’ video, he plucked up the courage and…

..whoosh! A perfect jump and landing!
