Relax to the sounds of a frozen icebreaker in the Arctic

If you’re desperate for a bit of relaxation, meditation, study and sleep, perhaps this ten hour treat of Arctic ambience might be the ticket.

Pull the bedclothes up tight and fall into a deep, satisfied slumber to an imagination-stirring soundtrack of the frozen ocean, ice cracking and gentle snow falling as the little ship is buffeted by the howling wind in the blue Arctic light.

The soporific soundtrack and accompanying looping video of the RV Lance from the Norwegian Polar Institute were created by Relax Sleep ASMR. Here’s how they describe it:

10 hours video of Arctic ambience with frozen ocean, ice cracking, snow falling, icebreaker idling and distant howling wind sound. Natural white noise sounds generated by the wind and snow falling, combined with deep low frequencies with delta waves from the powerful icebreaker idling engines, recorded at 96 kHz – 24 bit and designed for relaxation, meditation, study and sleep.

If that has failed to soothe you sufficiently, here another ten hour video from the same folks, with a high quality audio recording of a Siberian train journey:

And here’s one final sleep-inducing ten hour video from the same people, billed as ‘Relaxing Sounds of Snow Falling, Wind and Quiet Misty Stream Flowing Near the Forest.’

I think I need to go to bed now. I’m feeling veeeeery sleeepy.
