Remembering Hastings Pier – photos from 2005 reveal what’s been lost -

I posted a photo report last week showing the tragic state of Hastings Pier, which has been reduced to a burn out shell after a calamitous arson attack in 2010.

I’d forgotten that I’d taken pictures of the pier on a chilly afternoon in February 2005, but now that I’ve unearthed them, I thought I’d post some up and show what has been lost.

I was surprised to see that the pier looked in excellent condition, with its building in good repair – even the burger joint was open, despite the freezing weather.
