The snow may not be here this year (how I loved the Brixton snowfall last December!), but it’s Christmas day and that’s a good enough excuse to break open the eggnog ale and settle down in front of the tele with the family.
Have a great Christmas everybody!

Here’s a view of the Christmas decorations already up at Oxford Circus. A few days into November!
In my mind, the start of December is the earliest anyone should be considering getting all Christmassy, but the demands of commerce means that the festive season seems to start earlier and earlier every year.

Situated close to Spitalfields market, Dennis Severs’s House at 18 Folgate Street is a Georgian terraced house which has been turned into a time capsule.
Taking its name from its last resident, the Californian Dennis Severs who resided there from 1979 to 1999, each of the ten rooms in the house has been authentically recreated in a different period style, mainly covering the 18th and 19th centuries.

I didn’t even know this was going on, but came across it while we were taking in a winter’s walk across Hyde Park.
I didn’t expect a lot, but it was actually really rather lovely. It’s on till the 3rd January and it’s free.

Just a few snaps from my brief stay in my home town over Christmas. It’s getting hard to reconcile the city with my memories as it’s being redeveloped so fast.

Eeek! I’m still recovering from last night’s monster mash-up at Unsound in Camberwell – what a session that was – I didn’t get in till 8am and I’ve barely slept a wink. But it was worth it!

The night was fantastic – there was a massive turnout of Urbanites, three floors of madness, with the basement party reminding me of the mad-for-it bashes at the mighty – and much missed – Cooltan Arts squat

Despite having a hangover the size of a small country, I’ve managed to update my Lost pubs of Brixton feature, documenting closed boozers around the area, and will be adding a section on vanished cinemas, theatres and gigs soon.

I’ve also posted up the pics from the urban75 Christmas curry at Khan’s, Brixton last month. We took over the place and the curry rocked!
