urban spring camping holiday – Vale of the White Horse

I spent a delightful weekend up in Oxfordshire, camping near the Vale of the White Horse with a lovely mob of urban folks.

The weather was sensationally good – clear blue skies every day – and the location perfect.

It was incredibly cold at night mind – close to zero – but we were warmed by a plentiful supply of freshly baked potatoes from the campfire and lashings of beer.

Around the fire. You can see Venus in the background – with such clear skies it was hard not to go a bit Prof Brian Cox whenever I gazed up at the stars,

On the walk up White Horse Hill.
