Wet streets, a big Moon and an illuminated station roof: Edinburgh night photos

In photos: Edinburgh at night

Here’s some more photos taken from my ramblings around Edinburgh, taken on a damp November night. It’s a wonderful city to walk around.

Edinburgh Waverley railway station is literally in the centre of town, and fills the valley separating the medieval Old Town and the 18th century New Town.

The station is vast, and covers an area of over 25 acres, making it the second-largest main line railway station in the UK in terms of area (after London Waterloo).

Walking around the Old Town.

The impressive facade of The Balmoral Hotel, a luxury five-star property and landmark in Edinburgh, located at the east end of Princes Street.

Buses, vans and tram.

The Wee Pub at 1 Currie Close claims to be smallest in Scotland. It holds just 20 drinkers and measures just 17ft by 14ft.

Empty streets at night.
