Park for Brixton, October 1st 1887
In 1887 a campaign was launched for the grounds of Old Raleigh House to be used as a public park.
While Brixton's MP was championing the cause, Norwood's MP, Thomas Bristow, found greater success getting the grounds of nearby Brockwell Hall converted to a public park (eventually opened up as Brockwell Park).
