Brixton's trams - a history

I wish I'd been around when trams were rumbling through the streets - they look way cool and I like the way they ruled the roads, with cars having to get out of the way or get dented for their troubles. Nice.

Brixton used to have an extensive tram network - all gone by 1952, I'm afraid - including a San Francisco-style cable car up Brixton Hill.
