Cruciform Building, University College Hospital
This ornate and dramatic gothic Grade II listed building was designed by the renowned Victorian architect, Alfred Waterhouse in 1906 (he also designed the Natural History Museum in South Kensington).

Built in the shape of St Andrew's cross, this was where George Orwell died in room sixty-five on January 21st, 1950.
