Porthmeor Beach

This is the main beach at St. Ives which faces on to the superb Tate Gallery, just out of view on the seafront.

As the beach faces out to the Atlantic, there's often a host of hopeful surfers out on the waves: in fact St. Ives has a strong surfing community.

Shame I'm too crap to be a member of it!
