Brixton Car Park comes tumbling down

There may be controversy a plenty about what’s replacing this multi-story car park on the corner of  Brixton Station Road and Popes Road, but there won’t many people wailing at the sight of this lamentable slab of 60s grimness being pulled down.

After a long period of nothing much appearing to  happen at all, the car park has come down very quickly indeed.

This is a view looking up Pope’s Road, SW9 towards the railway bridge. The extra-special ugly high level footbridge has already disappeared.

To the right, you can just see one of the water sprays which helps keep the concrete dust down.
