Cologne in photos: street scenes, graffiti, trains and The Monochrome Set, May 2018

Just over a year after my first visit to Cologne, I was back with The Monochrome Set to play the King Georg venue.

Here’s a few shots taken as we travelled from Munch airport to Cologne.

Graffiti outside Cologne station.

Ghost sign and graffiti.

Arriving in Cologne.

Stickers.

Tourist-tastic fridge magnets.

The Eigelsteintor gate, one of the three medieval gatehouses that remain from Cologne’s early fortifications.

My favourite German beer (so far).

We managed to sell out the King Georg, despite the show being on a Wednesday night.

Ornate chandelier inside.

My kit for the evening (after the original one legged bass drum was rejected).

The PA system half-conked out half way through which was a pain.

More stickers and scribbles.

I took a walk in the morning before we moved on to the next town, and enjoyed a stroll around the wonderful sculpture park in Cologne.

Heading to the Rhine. Happily, I managed to avoid a confrontation with the local police this time!

Cologne architecture.

Spires and wires.

The curious architecture outside the main station.

Waiting for the train.
