A walk around a deserted tech park at night: Here East, Stratford, Feb 2019

My east London wanderings along the River Lea Navigation took me to the Here East tech park in Stratford, which was completely deserted at 7pm on a Sunday night. Here’s some photos:

The park’s website comes with the usual on-trend guff:

East London is the creative hub of the capital, with thousands of start-ups and tech giants already drawn to its famously inventive, creative and industrious culture.

With 1.2 million square feet in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Here East brings together business, tech, media, education and data in the pursuit of innovation. We’re home to established names and nimble startups alike. Radicals, reformers, visionaries, industry heroes and like-minded locals – they’re all part of our East London heritage and its geography of innovation.

Now the emerging breed of innovators and digital makers, in companies big and small, need a habitat to call their own. Somewhere they can cluster, grow and thrive alongside each other. That place is right here.

Every hipster needs a cluster and a hub!
