New Yorker on a Boris Bike battles the city snowfall

New Yorker on a Boris Bike battles the snowstorms down 1st Avenue

Seen on the Lower East Side this morning was this hardy New Yorker riding the US equivalent of a ‘Boris Bike‘ down the snow covered streets.

Our intrepid New York reporter Jim P braved the freezing temperatures to capture this series of photographs taken between East 11th Street between Second and Third Avenue.

As you can see, the streets are all but deserted apart from the lone cyclist and the snow plough heading her way at some speed.

Thankfully, the lady managed to avoid being flattened by the snow plough and can be seen heading off into the distance.

Meanwhile, in downtown Brixton, there’s not a speck of snow to be seen – just endless rain and high winds.
