Salisbury cathedral and town photos, Wiltshire, England

Photos of Salisbury, cathedral city in Wiltshire, south west England, UK, August 2011

En route to Endorse It Festival this year, I had a couple of hours to kill in Salisbury, so I went for a quick clatter around the town, with my noisy, booze-filled wheely bag disturbing locals wherever I went.

Salisbury is a very pretty town, although I’m not sure I could cope with the vast coachloads of camera-clacking visitors that swarm around its streets every day (oh hang on – I’ve just described myself, there).

The cathedral is a beauty – built between 1220 and 1258, it can boast the highest church spire in the land.

Art ahoy!

A temporarily installation by Sean Henry was situated on the lawn in front of the cathedral. It’s not a real duvet cover, by the way – it’s made of fibreglass (or something similarly rock hard).

More art! Inside the Fisherton Mill gallery/studio/cafe space, close to the station.
