Another nail in the coffin of Brixton’s shopping diversity has been hammered home with the opening of the sixth<\/em> mobile phone shop within 30 metres of the tube station. \"Brixton<\/p>\n

This new shop on the premises of the old Footlocker store<\/a>\u00a0burnt out in the 2011 disturbances sees\u00a0mobile\u00a0network O2 joining Vodafone, Three, T-Mobile, Phones 4U and the Carphone Warehouse in opening phone shops in the\u00a0middle\u00a0of\u00a0Brixton.<\/p>\n

Throw in the recent arrivals of Starbucks<\/a> and the dodgy estate agents Foxtons<\/a>\u00a0nearby and Brixton’s main drag now makes for a thoroughly depressing\u00a0vista, with barely any independent shops to be found.<\/p>\n
