The nearby Photographer’s Gallery<\/a> may seem to\u00a0attract\u00a0 most of the media attention these days, but I have to say that I much prefer to visit the\u00a0Getty Gallery, less than five minutes walk away.<\/p>\n

Located just off Oxford Street (near Oxford Circus), the gallery has put on some fantastic exhibitions in recent times, often with a focus on archive images from the last century and prints from\u00a0photographic\u00a0greats.<\/p>\n

Up until the end of this month, the gallery is offering\u00a0up to 50% off framed prints and 25% of new print orders from their core collection, and there’s some wonderful photos on offer. If only I could afford some!<\/p>\n

\"Another<\/p>\n

I\u00a0particularly\u00a0liked this photo of the London Christmas \u00a0lights taken in 1961 – the lights certainly looked a lot better than the crassly commercialised offerings slung across Oxford Street this Christmas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Getty sale continues through January 2013 and entry to the exhibition is free.<\/p>\n
