Running at the South\u00a0London\u00a0Gallery in south London until the 12th May 2103 is this mesmerising installation by Los Angeles-based artist Pae White, called ‘Too Much Night, Again.’<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\"Pae<\/p>\n

Merging craft,\u00a0architecture,\u00a0 art and design, the work spans the main gallery and involves hundreds of metres of coloured yarn criss-crossing the room.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0stretched\u00a0yarn forms words on opposing walls, and\u00a0walking\u00a0between the letters can be a very\u00a0disorientating\u00a0experience.<\/p>\n

The work was apparently\u00a0inspired\u00a0by a\u00a0period\u00a0of\u00a0insomnia and “consequent\u00a0reflection\u00a0on the\u00a0transience\u00a0of our existence.”<\/p>\n

Upstairs there was a short film which I have to say failed to grab me. Not sure if these kids would have made much sense of it either (at one point, it involved close-ups of skin\u00a0eczema\u00a0and then a boiling pan).<\/p>\n

On the ground floor is the rather\u00a0fabulous\u00a0No67 Cafe<\/a>. It’s certainly not the cheapest cafe in the area (\u00a32.90 coffee, \u00a35 for a sandwich), but the food was\u00a0delicious\u00a0and the\u00a0coffee really excellent.<\/p>\n

Entrance to the gallery, a “munificent” gift from John Passmore Edwards<\/a>,\u00a0a\u00a0Cornish\u00a0journalist, newspaper owner and\u00a0philanthropist.<\/p>\n
