I finally got around to visiting the Harrison pub by Kings Cross last night, with my visit spurred on by a Lost Cavalry<\/a>\u00a0acoustic show at the\u00a0venue’s fortnightly Folkroom night.<\/p>\n

The Harrison is located at\u00a028 Harrison Street in Bloomsbury, and there’s a bar upstairs (which also serves food) and an intimate gig area downstairs.<\/p>\n

The stage \u00a0is most certainly on the bijou<\/em> size, so it’s a venue best suited for folk nights and intimate acoustic shows.<\/p>\n

There wasn’t enough room for all six members of the band, so the rhythm section was shunted off-stage to the right. You can just about see them lurking in the darkness.<\/p>\n

I’ve long been a fan of the Lost Cavalry and it was great to see them premiere some new material.<\/p>\n

I was particularly pleased to see that the new songwriting has become more first-hand personal<\/em> too – much as I love their tales of wild adventures, buried elephants and polar radio stations, sometimes nothing can beat raw emotions being unleashed on stage!<\/p>\n
