Cardiff City fans still rightfully angered by the whimsical rebranding of the club<\/a> by meddling billionaire owner Vincent Tan have planned a ‘Blue March’ to take place before the home game against Liverpool on Saturday, 22nd March 2014.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The march comes as demands grow for the club to reject the red strip foisted on them by Tan and return to their traditional blue colours.<\/p>\n

The results of a survey published by the Cardiff City Supporters’ Trust today<\/a> showed that just \u00a024 out of the nearly 1,000 fans polled supported Mr Tan\u2019s change to red:<\/p>\n

85.21% (847)<\/strong>\u00a0of supporters who responded to the annual fans\u2019 survey \u2013 open to members and non-members \u2013 said the Trust should continue to campaign against the rebrand. Just\u00a02.41% (24<\/strong>) of all those polled supported the rebrand.<\/p>\n

Of Trust members only\u00a02 (0.75%)<\/strong>\u00a0members that filled in the survey supported the rebrand while\u00a083.58%<\/strong>\u00a0of\u00a0 members wanted the Trust to continue to oppose the colour change with\u00a015.67%<\/strong>\u00a0 disagreeing with the rebrand, but reluctantly accepting it.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Of course, some may suggest that had the fans had come out with such strong opposition when the changes were first proposed<\/em>, things may have been a lot different now, but it’s good to see real opposition growing.<\/p>\n

Cardiff City’s heritage and tradition is far more important to the city than Tan’s barely-unexplained attempts to try and shoehorn the club to fit the supposed commercial interests of Far East consumers, who as yet have shown little\u00a0<\/span>interest\u00a0in\u00a0embracing the club.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sadly, the fightback has come a bit too late for me (see: \u00a0Goodbye Cardiff City FC: a life long fan finds salvation in the lower leagues<\/a>), but I wish the marchers all the best. Keep Cardiff Blue!<\/p>\n
