I was saddened to hear that the legendary downtown New York\u00a0art-supplies store, Pearl Paint, has closed down.<\/p>\n

Trading\u00a0amongst the bustle of Canal Street for fifty years, Pearl Paint first\u00a0opened on Church Street in 1933, originally selling house paint.<\/p>\n

Always a must-visit for me every time I visited New York, the store’s five floors contained just about every conceivable thing an artist might need, and the knowledgeable staff could always be relied on for good advice.<\/p>\n

Their Facebook page<\/a>\u00a0remains active, and still, rather poignantly, bears the message:<\/p>\n
