[<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Caerphilly_Castle\" target=\"_blank\">&#8212;<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/caerphilly-mountain-wales-11.jpg\" alt=\"A walk up Caerphilly Mountain, north Cardiff, south Wales\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.castlewales.com\/caerphil.html\" target=\"_blank\">Castle Wales web site<\/a>\u00a0has a detailed article about the castle:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>It is a double-skinned parallelogram surrounded by large-scale water defences. The concentric arrangement was more flexible than earlier plans. It gave rapid access to any part of the castle by mural passages and wall-walks, towers and gatehouses could be independently held, attackers could be well covered and there was no possibility of mounting siege engines against the inner walls. The castle\u2019s cellular structure and strength is indicated by the presence of numerous portcullises.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\"
