the Clapton Ultras.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"735\" height=\"414\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OnL8CHDr8v4?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-GB&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<p>Clapton&#8217;s fanatical support have been introducing a quiet revolution to lower league football,\u00a0attracting a passionate following\u00a0based on the\u00a0European ultras tradition, and one that reflects their opposition to modern professional football.<\/p>\n<p>United in their opposition to\u00a0discrimination and far-right politics within football, attendance figures have risen sharply since 2012, with average gates jumping from\u00a043 to 186 \u00a0for the 2014\/5 season.<\/p>\n<p>Clapton&#8217;s home attendance of 519 against Stansted on 18 April 2015 proved to be the second ever highest attendance figure for an Essex Senior League match.<\/p>\n<p>Not surprisingly, there&#8217;s a lot of common ground between Clapton&#8217;s fans and those of my team <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brixtonbuzz.com\/?s=hamlet\" target=\"_blank\">Dulwich Hamlet<\/a>, and a large contingent came down to support\u00a0Hamlet&#8217;s ground breaking\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.brixtonbuzz.com\/2015\/02\/in-photos-dulwich-hamlet-play-stonewall-fc-in-englands-biggest-anti-homophobia-exhibition-match\/\" target=\"_blank\">anti-homophobia\u00a0friendly match against Stonewall FC<\/a> in February this year.<\/p>\n<p>Football Without Borders also have strong Hamlet connections, launching their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brixtonbuzz.com\/2015\/03\/football-beyond-borders-launch-fbbtv-with-a-charity-fundraiser-at-dulwich-hamlet-fc-on-saturday\/\" target=\"_blank\">FBBTV venture<\/a> at Champion Hill\u00a0in March 2015 and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brixtonbuzz.com\/2015\/04\/football-beyond-borders-release-a-new-video-talking-to-the-fans-and-management-at-dulwich-hamlet-fc\/\"
