for the seaside town&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/brightons-west-pier-in-2014-victorian-elegance-rusts-into-the-sea\/\" target=\"_blank\">much-loved but now-abandoned West Pier<\/a> can be seen under construction in these recent photos.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/brighton-i360-tower-02.jpg\" alt=\"Brighton's i360 tower under construction, Brighton, England, July 2015\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Billed as a\u00a0&#8216;vertical pier&#8217; in the pod in the evenings (illustrated above).<\/p>\n<p>Commendably, the venture has pledged to\u00a0be\u00a0first tourism employer in Brighton and Hove to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.brightoni360.co.uk\/about-us\/our-story-4\/community-engagement\/\" target=\"_blank\">commit to the Living Wage<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/brighton-i360-tower-04.jpg\" alt=\"Brighton's i360 tower under construction, Brighton, England, July 2015\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Completing the\u00a0tower involves a complex procedure in which 17 &#8216;steel cans&#8217;
