{"id":16885,"date":"2015-12-28T12:24:30","date_gmt":"2015-12-28T12:24:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/?p=16885"},"modified":"2015-12-28T12:24:30","modified_gmt":"2015-12-28T12:24:30","slug":"a-night-of-drinking-and-dancing-at-the-andrew-buchan-bar-albany-road-cardiff-in-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/a-night-of-drinking-and-dancing-at-the-andrew-buchan-bar-albany-road-cardiff-in-photos\/","title":{"rendered":"A night of drinking and dancing at the Andrew Buchan Bar, Albany Road, Cardiff &#8211; in photos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/andrew-buchan-cardiff-01.jpg\" alt=\"A night of drinking and dancing at the Andrew Buchan Bar, Albany Road, Cardiff, December 2015\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Stocking a\u00a0fine range of Welsh real ales from the independent Rhymney Beers brewery, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/andrewbuchanbar\/info\/\" target=\"_blank\">Andrew Buchan\u00a0bar<\/a>\u00a0in Albany Road is one of my favourite pubs in Cardiff.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/andrew-buchan-cardiff-14.jpg\" alt=\"A night of drinking and dancing at the Andrew Buchan Bar, Albany Road, Cardiff, December 2015\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The pub is named after the Scottish founder of the original Rhymney Brewery, which was founded in 1838.<\/p>\n<p>Closed down by Whitbread in 1978, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rhymneybreweryltd.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">name was resurrected by the Evans family in 2005<\/a>, who now run a\u00a0brewery in Blaenavon, with other pubs in Merthyr Tydfil, Aberdare\u00a0and\u00a0Pontypridd.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/andrew-buchan-cardiff-05.jpg\" alt=\"A night of drinking and dancing at the Andrew Buchan Bar, Albany Road, Cardiff, December 2015\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Regularly playing in the Albany Road bar are the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/VinylCruisers\/?fref=ts\" target=\"_blank\">Vinyl Cruisers<\/a>, a South Wales-based\u00a0DJ collective playing vinyl only.<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;re a lovely bunch of chaps and they kindly invited me to play a few tunes on\u00a0their Boxing Day event.
