alt=\"Dance performance and art: Tate Britain, London, 2nd July, 2016\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I enjoyed an interesting visit to the Tate Britain yesterday, soaking up some wonderful art and watching an intriguing dance performance.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/performance-tate-britain-02.jpg\" alt=\"Dance performance and art: Tate Britain, London, 2nd July, 2016\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Located by the banks of the River Thames, the Tate Britain is\u00a0one of the largest museums in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Originally known as the\u00a0National Gallery of British Art from 1897 to 1932, and then the Tate Gallery from 1932 to 2000, the Tate Britain is the oldest\u00a0Tate\u00a0gallery in the network, and\u00a0houses a substantial collection of the art of the United Kingdom since Tudor times.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/performance-tate-britain-03.jpg\" alt=\"Dance performance and art: Tate Britain, London, 2nd July, 2016\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Up until October 2016,\u00a0a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tate.org.uk\/whats-on\/tate-britain\/exhibition\/pablo-bronstein-historical-dances-antique-setting\" target=\"_blank\">continuous live performance<\/a> is taking place in the large Duveen galleries, with dancers moving, &#8220;through the galleries interacting with architectural elements.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/performance-tate-britain-04.jpg\" alt=\"Dance performance and art: Tate Britain, London, 2nd July, 2016\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The work is by\u00a0celebrated British artist\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tate.org.uk\/artists\/pablo-bronstein\">Pablo Bronstein<\/a>, who is known for his interest in pre-20th century European design and architecture and for &#8220;creating often satirical performances which fuse modern and historic elements commenting on art and its place in society.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\"
