the charming historic small town of Weikersheim in <a title=\"Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Baden-W%C3%BCrttemberg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg<\/a>, south Germany.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/weikersheim-photos-germany-02.jpg\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Saint_George\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according to legend<\/a>, was a Roman soldier of Greek origin and officer in the Guard of Roman emperor Diocletian, who was sentenced to death for failing to recant his Christian faith.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a very small town, with a population under 8,000 souls.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.weikersheim.de\/service-navigation\/english.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Weikersheim&#8217;s\u00a0website<\/a> promotes the town with their less-than-snappy motto &#8220;Small but fine!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" street scenes and town views\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We were playing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.clubw71.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Club w71<\/a>, a small and welcoming venue located in what looked like an old cricket pavilion in the middle of a field. the raging hangover, we found time to take a look around the town and visit its famous castle in the morning.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Weikersheim Palace was built in the 12th century\u00a0and was the traditional seat of the princely family of Hohenlohe.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been owned by the state of Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg since 1967 and visitors can tour parts of the Renaissance palace and the Baroque garden with many statues.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\"
