target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Getty Images Gallery<\/a> by Oxford Circus has now closed for good.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/getty-gallery-london-closes-02.jpg\" alt=\"London's Getty Images Gallery closes for good, January 2019\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s long been one of my favourite photo galleries in London, with regular free displays showing off some incredible work by a wide range of photographers.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/bert-hardy-picture-post-getty.jpg\" alt=\"Picture Post legend Bert Hardy at the Getty Gallery, London\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As well as showcasing the work in Getty&#8217;s catalogue, regular themed exhibitions were put on and I particularly enjoyed include the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/picture-post-legend-bert-hardy-at-the-getty-gallery-london\/\">Bert Hardy retrospective<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/indian-treasures-at-the-getty-gallery-showcases-delightful-victorian-era-photography\/\">Indian Treasures<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/early-hip-hop-culture-photographed-beat-positive-at-the-getty-gallery-london\/\">early hip hop<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/getty-gallery-london-closes-01.jpg\" alt=\"London's Getty Images Gallery closes for good, January 2019\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Signs outside the gallery say:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Getty Images Gallery served the London community for over 13 years from this location.<\/p>\n<p>As of January 2019, we are no longer operating a storefront<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The gallery was at at 46 Eastcastle Street, London, W1W 8DX.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;ll be much missed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was really
