{"id":18721,"date":"2019-01-22T10:00:51","date_gmt":"2019-01-22T10:00:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/?p=18721"},"modified":"2019-01-22T13:55:01","modified_gmt":"2019-01-22T13:55:01","slug":"the-mystery-of-the-london-phonebox-thats-full-of-cardboard-in-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/the-mystery-of-the-london-phonebox-thats-full-of-cardboard-in-photos\/","title":{"rendered":"The mystery of the London phonebox that&#8217;s full of cardboard &#8211; in photos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/london-phonebox-cardboard-01.jpg\" alt=\"The London phonebox that's full of cardboard - in photos\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve noticed this cardboard-packed phonebox off Oxford Street a couple of times in the past, and it&#8217;s always mystified me.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/london-phonebox-cardboard-03.jpg\" alt=\"The London phonebox that's full of cardboard - in photos\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The phone box is located on Great Titchfield Street by the junction with Eastcastle Street, W1.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone hoping to make a call from this box would be in for a bit of a struggle, as they&#8217;d have to lean over the pile of neatly packed cardboard to reach the handset.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/london-phonebox-cardboard-02.jpg\" alt=\"The London phonebox that's full of cardboard - in photos\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Above the cardboard can be seen the usual &#8216;model&#8217; cards.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/london-phonebox-cardboard-04.jpg\" alt=\"The London phonebox that's full of cardboard - in photos\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a bit of mystery why the cardboard gets placed here.<\/p>\n<p>My first guess is that homeless people may be storing it there for the chilly night ahead, but it&#8217;s unusual that the cardboard seems to be of a uniform size and in good condition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update: <\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It\u2019s for the homeless.
