{"id":19142,"date":"2019-10-14T12:41:09","date_gmt":"2019-10-14T11:41:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/?p=19142"},"modified":"2019-10-14T12:45:13","modified_gmt":"2019-10-14T11:45:13","slug":"bristol-photos-street-art-station-gigs-pubs-and-rain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/bristol-photos-street-art-station-gigs-pubs-and-rain\/","title":{"rendered":"Bristol photos: street art, station, gigs, pubs and rain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/bristol_photos_2019_01.jpg\" alt=\"Bristol photos: street art, station, pubs and rain\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I was back up in Bristol playing a show on the weekend, and although my time in the city was brief, I managed to grab some photos on my travels:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/bristol_photos_2019_02.jpg\" alt=\"Bristol photos: street art, station, pubs and rain\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Bristol Temple Meads railway station has a beautiful curved overall roof.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/bristol_photos_2019_03.jpg\" alt=\"Bristol photos: street art, station, pubs and rain\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The station still has an original GWR wooden signpost, which is infinitely clearer and easier to read than the squinty modern equivalent seen to the far left.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/Britains-100-Best-Railway-Stations\/dp\/024197898X\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Britain&#8217;s 100 Best Railway Stations<\/a> by Simon Jenkins, the station was one of only ten to be awarded five stars. Regardless of the current state the island may be in, an essence still exists within it that is telling of the Anarchic spirit of the area&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Turbo Island is an area that remains untouched by this rapid gentrification however. The regular setting up of rigs and bonfires represents more than just a social gathering, it represents a maintenance of a value that is under threat.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" of unique curved steel sections topped with timber decking, sculptured cladding and feature lighting, the 91 metre-long bridge is four metres wide and designed to accommodate both pedestrians and
