Divided across an open air space and in the adjacent King’s Cross Tunnel, Face to Face is a compelling exhibition of social documentary photography curated by Ekow Eshun, in partnership with the Fund for Global Human Rights.<\/p>\n

Located in the midst of the swanky King’s Cross redevelopment scheme can be found the smaller part of the exhibition, in the form of 15 large photographs mounted on open-air benches.<\/p>\n

This powerful and timely exhibition of social documentary photography [features] the work of emerging international artists such as Alejandro Cartagena, Margaret Courtney-Clarke, Medina Dugger, Mahtab Hussain, Dhruv Malhotra, Sabelo Mlangeni, George Osodi and Kyle Weeks.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In working closely with individuals and local communities, the approach of the selected photographers mirrors the values and approach of the Fund.<\/p>\n

Instead of imposing its own solutions on partners, the Fund respects their expertise, invests in their ideas and asks them how best to address human rights problems facing their communities.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

James Logan, European Director of the Fund for Global Human Rights, said:<\/p>\n

2020 has starkly exposed the consequences of inequality, racism and authoritarianism.<\/p>\n

Facing the crippling effects of COVID-19 and its devastating impact on marginalized communities, people are questioning the way our societies are set up, while movements like Black Lives Matter have highlighted how activism can challenge systemic human rights abuse.<\/p>\n

In this time of flux, the Fund for Global Human Rights wants to show that we can all make a difference and create positive social change.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The second part of the exhibition takes place in the nearby 90-metre long subway tunnel that links St Pancras International and King\u2019s Cross stations.<\/p>\n

Opened in 2014<\/a>, the entrance to the tunnel is in the north-east corner of the One Pancras Square building, and it is accessed via an escalator hall.<\/p>\n
