Lewes is poorly served when it comes to late night bars – most people bugger off to nearby Brighton – so we were happy to find that the Volunteer in Eastgate Street stays open till 1am on Saturday nights.<\/p>\n

Known locally as ‘The Volly<\/em>‘ a few people had suggested that things can get a bit rough there, but we found everyone super friendly, and loved the relentless energy of\u00a0 BANTZ n BASS, who laid down an uplifting mix of garage and drum’n’bass all\u00a0 night.<\/p>\n

Some of the dancefloor movements were a little unusual but all good fun.<\/p>\n

It was great to be able to grab a pint of the local brew, which is delicious,<\/p>\n
