{"id":2748,"date":"2010-11-21T12:59:33","date_gmt":"2010-11-21T12:59:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/?p=2748"},"modified":"2010-11-21T13:03:20","modified_gmt":"2010-11-21T13:03:20","slug":"actionettes-at-the-fox-and-firkin-lewisham-london","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/actionettes-at-the-fox-and-firkin-lewisham-london\/","title":{"rendered":"Actionettes at the Fox and Firkin, Lewisham, London"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/actionettes-fox-firkin-01.jpg\" alt=\"Actionettes at the Fox and Firkin, Lewisham, London\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Last night I ventured deep into the uncharted waters of Lewisham to check out The Actionettes and The Instants playing the Fox and Firkin, betwixt Lewisham and Ladywell.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The pub &#8211; which has been\u00a0imaginatively\u00a0decorated and looks like a cross between the Dogstar and the Rest Is Noise in Brixton &#8211; \u00a0is a beacon of hope in a fairly bleak\u00a0part of south London. It&#8217;s well worth a visit.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/actionettes-fox-firkin-02.jpg\" alt=\"Actionettes at the Fox and Firkin, Lewisham, London\" \/><\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;ve spent a fair few quid making the Firkin a decent live venue, and there&#8217;s a small stage with a drum riser, a reasonably powerful PA system and good stage lighting.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and a smoke machine, which is always a Good Thing in my book. rather distractingly for the bands, I would imagine &#8211; is the corridor to the loos and a large beer garden.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/actionettes-fox-firkin-14.jpg\" alt=\"Actionettes at the Fox and Firkin, Lewisham, London\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I really like the way the pub has been kitted out, and it&#8217;s a shame so few people were there &#8211;
