The Green\u00a0Workshop\u00a0in Brixton Village is a great place to bag\u00a0yourself\u00a0a\u00a0sustainable\u00a0Christmas\u00a0tree.<\/p>\n

We invested in two exceptionally cute mini-trees from there, so there’ll be no plasticky monstrosities in our\u00a0household\u00a0this festive season! Huzzah!<\/p>\n

Billing itself as “Brixton’s premier plant and flower emporium,” \u00a0 the store can be found at Unit 5 in Granville Arcade\/Brixton Village (by the Coldharbour Lane, SW9) entrance.<\/p>\n

Another look inside the Green Workshop, which prides itself on selling as many local products as possible.<\/p>\n

Further inside Brixton Village is Brick Box<\/a>, a friendly arts hub and cafe bar, run by a “team of artists, dreamers, hopers and no hopers.”<\/p>\n

The more\u00a0adventurous of\u00a0passer-bys\u00a0were\u00a0invited\u00a0to sample the potentially troublesome delights of shots labelled, ‘Herrings from Hell,’ Svetlana’s Slippery Nipple,’ and the ‘Manchurian Candidate’ for \u00a32.50 a pop.<\/p>\n

Although it was a cold, dark Sunday, business was\u00a0fairly\u00a0brisk for the units that opened in the Village.<\/p>\n

Federation Coffee was particularly packed, although our delicious beverage was slightly marred by an unpleasant outbreak of loud braying yuppies behind us, bragging loudly about some dull business deal or\u00a0another.<\/p>\n
