In the UK, things have been hotting up with students taking to the streets<\/a> to demonstrate about the swingeing cuts hitting the education sector, introduced by an evil Tory government stuffed full of millionaires<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Tax dodgers<\/strong><\/p>\n What’s made protesters even more angry is the fact that\u00a0Vodafone have apparently been let off \u00a36bn in tax payments<\/a> – \u00a0a sum large enough to ensure\u00a0affordable\u00a0education for millions.<\/p>\n Other big companies employing tax dodging wheezes have been uncovered, including the Arcadia Group, the shares of which are owned by the wife of\u00a0stinking\u00a0rich owner Sir Philip Green.<\/p>\n It is alleged that Sir Philip deliberately tried to avoid paying vast pots of UK tax<\/a> by channelling \u00a31.2 billion worth of funds from his retail empire into a handy offshore number registered to his wife in Monaco.<\/p>\n This little\u00a0manoeuvre added up to a huge\u00a0\u00a3285m tax dodge – enough to pay the \u00a39,000 fees for almost 32,000 students or the salaries of 20,000 NHS nurses.<\/p>\n UK wide protests<\/strong><\/p>\n A wave of protests has sprung up in the UK, with occupations of Vodafone<\/a>, TopShop<\/a> and other related tax-shirking\u00a0businesses, and with more on the way, a new mobile website called UK uncut<\/a> has emerged.<\/p>\n The site employs HTML5’s geolocation capabilities to\u00a0quickly\u00a0locate nearby targets for protesters, serving up a list of accused tax dodgers, along with a short summary of their dubious\u00a0activities.<\/p>\n A\u00a0slightly\u00a0more\u00a0controversial ‘When you get there’ tab offers suggestions as to what kind of peaceful action individuals and groups may take, although\u00a0disappointingly there’s no diary function showing the times and dates of any forthcoming planned actions.<\/p>\n The site can also be saved as a web app on an iPhone, and it worked fine on our Android device.<\/p>\n Point your mobile browser here http:\/\/ukuncut.mobi\/<\/a> and find the\u00a0nearest\u00a0tax dodger to you – and if you’re in Brixton, see you on Saturday outside TopShop at 11am<\/a>!<\/p>\n [UK uncut<\/a>]<\/p>\n (This article\u00a0originally\u00a0appeared on wirefresh.com<\/a>)<\/p>\n Related links: <\/strong>![\"Locate](\"http:\/\/www.wirefresh.com\/images\/ukuncut-tax-shirkers-app.jpg\")
