Back in the day, illegal raves would regularly take place here at low tide under the banner of &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/reclaim-the-beach-party-on-the-river-thames-april-23rd-2011\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reclaim The Beach<\/a>.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>As the tide slowly came in, the sound system (and revellers) would get pushed back closer to the steps until eventually seeking refuge on the walkway above.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" building, describing it in 1988 as &#8220;a clever way of building a nuclear power station in the middle of London without anyone objecting&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\"
