{"id":3266,"date":"2011-01-29T13:16:53","date_gmt":"2011-01-29T13:16:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/?p=3266"},"modified":"2011-01-29T13:17:25","modified_gmt":"2011-01-29T13:17:25","slug":"musikki-music-search-engine-could-be-a-winner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/musikki-music-search-engine-could-be-a-winner\/","title":{"rendered":"Musikki music search engine could be a winner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wirefresh.com\/images\/musikki-music-search-engine.jpg\" alt=\"Musikki music search engine looks worthy of your attention\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As a hard core music lover and enthusiastic but accident-prone DJ of little\u00a0renown, I&#8217;m always checking out new ways to discover great new artists, and I&#8217;ve recently been spending some time on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.musikki.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Musikki<\/a>, a new search engine designed especially for seeking out new bands.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>A right rough diamond<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Still in beta, there&#8217;s still a few rough edges but I&#8217;m digging the functionality: just type in a band&#8217;s name and you&#8217;ll be served up videos, a band bio, discography and photos, plus tweets containing the band&#8217;s name and a listing of any upcoming Last.fm-listed events.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wirefresh.com\/images\/musikki-music-search-engine-1.jpg\" alt=\"Musikki music search engine looks worthy of your attention\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Related artists<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Musikki is dead simple to use, but its real stand out feature is the ability to suggest similar or related artists.<\/p>\n<p>I tried it out by typing in the name of an excellent but fairly obscure Americana outfit called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theinnocencemission.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Innocence Mission<\/a> and was immediately pointed in the direction of another excellent but fairly obscure Americana\/gospel act called <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Welcome_Wagon\" target=\"_blank\">The Welcome Wagon<\/a> featuring the Rev.
