by some Frappuccino-fuelled over privileged rich-kid overheard in a cafe, Loughborough Junction remains a pale shadow of its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/brixton\/history\/loughborough.html\" target=\"_blank\">former self<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/brixton\/features\/images\/coldharbour-lane-loughborough-junc-02.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photo feature - a walk down Coldharbour Lane, Brixton, through Loughborough Junction into Camberwell, London SE5, March 2011\" width=\"580\" height=\"435\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once a busy, vibrant shopping thoroughfare, the area is now strewn with the carcasses of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/brixton\/bars\/lost-pubs.html\" target=\"_blank\">closed pubs<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/brixton\/history\/loughborough8.html\" target=\"_blank\">crumbling\u00a0shops<\/a> and under-performing\u00a0businesses, although the spidery fingers of\u00a0gentrification\u00a0are starting to embrace the area.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/brixton\/features\/images\/coldharbour-lane-loughborough-junc-03.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Photo feature - a walk down Coldharbour Lane, Brixton, through Loughborough Junction into Camberwell, London SE5, March 2011\" width=\"580\" height=\"435\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Effectively neutered as a pub by the development of the &#8216;luxury flats&#8217;
