{"id":419,"date":"2007-05-11T17:07:00","date_gmt":"2007-05-11T17:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/u75blog\/?p=419"},"modified":"2007-05-11T17:07:00","modified_gmt":"2007-05-11T17:07:00","slug":"a-trip-to-timewarp-southwold","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/a-trip-to-timewarp-southwold\/","title":{"rendered":"A trip to timewarp Southwold"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/photos\/suffolk\/images\/halesworth-southwold-05.jpg\" alt=\"Southwold photos\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We spent a delightful few days in the coastal town of Southwold in Suffolk last week, pedalling about on our little folding bikes.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/photos\/suffolk\/images\/southwold-photos-07.jpg\" alt=\"Southwold photos\" \/><br \/>The whole area is picture-book pretty, and seems almost unchanged from the middle of last century.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/photos\/suffolk\/images\/southwold-photos-19.jpg\" alt=\"Southwold photos\" \/><br \/>The architecture is fabulous, and there&#8217;s some fabulous walks around the town and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/photos\/suffolk\/brampton-halesworth.html\">country bike rides<\/a> to be had.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/photos\/suffolk\/images\/dunwich-suffolk-04.jpg\" alt=\"Southwold photos\" \/><br \/>We visited <a href=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/photos\/suffolk\/dunwich-village.html\">Dunwich<\/a>, once a large trading port boasting nine churches, but after several calamitous storms in the middle ages, only a tiny village remains.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/photos\/suffolk\/images\/blythburgh-church-05.jpg\" alt=\"Southwold photos\" \/><br \/>Despite many of them falling into the sea, there&#8217;s some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/photos\/suffolk\/images\/blythburgh-church-05.jpg\">stunning medieval churches<\/a> to be found, most of them massively over sized for the small communities they now serve.<\/p>\n<p>See my full photo 17-page (!)report here: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/photos\/suffolk\/index.html\">Photos of Southwold, Halesworth, Walberswick, Dunwich and Suffolk <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We spent a delightful few days in the coastal town of Southwold in Suffolk last week, pedalling about on our little folding bikes.
