{"id":4496,"date":"2011-06-12T15:01:46","date_gmt":"2011-06-12T14:01:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/?p=4496"},"modified":"2011-06-13T12:53:08","modified_gmt":"2011-06-13T11:53:08","slug":"sluts-flypasts-naked-bike-rides-and-penny-farthings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/sluts-flypasts-naked-bike-rides-and-penny-farthings\/","title":{"rendered":"Sluts, flypasts, naked bike rides and penny farthings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/slutwalk-london-june-2011-01.jpg\" alt=\"Sluts, flypasts, naked bike rides and penny farthings\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There can&#8217;t be many places on this planet that have so many great things going on for free, and yesterday London\u00a0excelled itself.<\/p>\n<p>My first stop was over to Piccadilly to join in with the well-attended Slutwalk [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/london-slutwalk-2011-full-photo-report\/\">see photo report here<\/a>], which set off in the early afternoon and marched to Trafalgar Square.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/queens-birthday-flypast.jpg\" alt=\"Sluts, flypasts, naked bike rides and penny farthings\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Just before the march set off, we saw this impressive flyover for the Queen&#8217;s birthday.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/naked-bike-ride.jpg\" alt=\"Sluts, flypasts, naked bike rides and penny farthings\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Back at Hyde Park, the Naked Bike Ride was setting off in glorious sunshine. The ride was <em>hugely<\/em> popular this year.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/penny-farthing-smithfield.jpg\" alt=\"Sluts, flypasts, naked bike rides and penny farthings\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I then jumped back on my Barclays Bike and hurtled over to Smithfield to watch the amazing penny-farthing racing at the\u00a0London Nocturne.<\/p>\n<p>The last time penny-farthings were raced regularly in London was in the 1880s, so it was great to see them back in action.<\/p>\n<p>Expect full photo reports of these events soon!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There can&#8217;t be many places on this planet that have so many great things going on for free, and yesterday London\u00a0excelled itself.
