on Electric Avenue, Brixton.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/images\/wordy-art-electric-avenue-04.jpg\" alt=\"Wordy art piece appears on Electric Avenue, Brixton\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The piece seems to be made up of what I assume are random pieces of overheard conversation in the area, but it&#8217;s quite hard to make any sense out of it.<\/p>\n<p>The cables on the right (above the door) suggest that there may be some sort of lighting to be installed later.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" by this at the moment \u00a0but what do you think, dear readers?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> The piece was created by esteemed local resident Will Self and will indeed light up, as he explains in this PDF document, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lambeth.gov.uk\/NR\/rdonlyres\/47E8705F-B5DA-42A7-8791-1E5EC0173884\/0\/MarketstallconsultationreportfortheBrixtonartsandlightingprojects2009.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Brixton arts and creative lighting projects<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Electric Avenue Project<\/strong><br \/>\nAuthor and Lambeth resident Will Self says of his idea: \u201cBrixton Speaks is an<br \/>\nartwork intended to reflect back at the people who live, work and shop in<br \/>\nBrixton Market.<\/p>\n<p>Over a month-long period in early summer of 2009, fragments<br \/>\nof speech were noted down on Electric Avenue, in the arcades, and along<br \/>\nBrixton Road.<\/p>\n<p>The aim is not to antagonise, shock, or distort, but to mirror the<br \/>\ngreat vigour, invention and diversity of Brixtonians.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>These \u2018fragments of<br \/>\nspeech\u2019 will be displayed and carefully edited phrases will light up in a<br
