{"id":492,"date":"2007-01-02T00:41:00","date_gmt":"2007-01-02T00:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/u75blog\/?p=492"},"modified":"2007-01-02T00:41:00","modified_gmt":"2007-01-02T00:41:00","slug":"happy-new-year-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.urban75.org\/blog\/happy-new-year-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Happy New Year!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/offline\/images\/nye-2006-01.jpg\" alt=\"New Year's Eve, Brixton\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/offline\/\" target=\"_blank\">Offline New Year&#8217;s Eve Party<\/a> at the Albert was fantastic fun last night.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/offline\/images\/nye-2006-03.jpg\" alt=\"New Year's Eve, Brixton\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The place was absolutely rammed all night, the DJs played some great sets and I even managed get the all-important playing of the Big Ben chimes successfully lined up with the stroke of midnight! (more by luck than anything else, truth to be told).<\/p>\n<p>I even threw in a punky version of Auld Lang Syne straight after the chimes to keep the traditionalists happy.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/offline\/images\/nye-2006-02.jpg\" alt=\"New Year's Eve, Brixton\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In a piece of Live Aid-esque planning, both Offline and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.howdoesitfeel.co.uk\/\">How Does It Feel To Be Loved<\/a> party up the road at the Brixton Windmill undertook a synchronised song playback, ensuring that Brixton was dancing to Martha and the Vandellas, &#8216;Heatwave&#8217; as the second song of 2007.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urban75.org\/offline\/nye-2006.html\">Offline NYE photos<\/a><\/p>\n<p>After the Albert, I stumbled down to Camberwell to the Unsound 30hr party which was as messy as you might expect, although I can&#8217;t remember too much of it. I got in around 8am and have felt suitably wobbly all day.
